As we celebrate Father’s Day this coming Sunday, we asked Sunrise fathers from across the country to share their words of wisdom. Take a look at what they had to say:
“Keep in touch, stay close, and stay as friends.”
"Try to be a model father that your children can admire."
"Always be patient. When I was raising my kids, I taught them all about art (I am an art teacher after all!) I taught them how to see the beauty of the world. Just like painting a masterpiece, you must be patient as you teach your children. They are masterpieces of your design."
"Every night, sit down as a family and eat together. It helps you stay connected."
"Have a good sense of humor, it goes a long way."
"Go with the flow, as a father you learn as you go. Also, daughters are good to their dads."
"Be fair, but firm. Appreciate life's best qualities. Set an example."
"Get on your children's level. I would always sit mine down and make sure we see eye to eye. Instead of yelling, ask 'what do you think of this?' or 'what should you have done?' I would then give my advice but would not make them feel wrong."
"Work hard. Never settle for anything less than your best. And be good to your mother."
And last but not least,
"Boys have cooties!"
