In honor of National Nurses Week (May 6-12), we are taking a moment to celebrate our incredible Sunrise nurses for the exemplary care that they provide to their residents and community. Regina Long, is one of these amazing nurses, and she was nominated by fellow team members for her leadership and hard work that she brings each and every day.
“Regina has a great future as a Sunrise leader and shows great promise to continue growing.” – Herman Marquez, Director of Operations, Sunrise of Woodland Hills, CA
Regina has been a part of the Sunrise family for more than four years, and currently works at Sunrise of Woodland Hills, CA. She takes pride in all that she does, and has helped her community make tremendous strides in quality improvement since joining the team. Regina is described by her peers as a team player, a servant leader and a calming presence to all those around her. She is a nurse that loves to empower and teach in order to make herself and those around her better each day. Regina has recently been selected as a panelist to share her nursing experience for a presentation given by the California Assisted Living Association (CALA) this month. Hear what Regina has to say about being a nurse at Sunrise:
“For me, being a nurse at Sunrise means a multitude of things. It means being challenged to be the best version of myself. It means being held to the highest standard as a nurse. It means being inspired by our residents and team members every day. Being a nurse at Sunrise means feeling like I belong to something bigger than myself that offers so much opportunity. I’ve learned so much about myself along the way, I’ve grown into a leader and I continue to grow every day. I love that Sunrise expects the best out of me and of all of its team members. Being a nurse at Sunrise means that I never have to feel alone, and I have developed so many relationships and memories that will last throughout my life. I am grateful to be a nurse here, to learn here, and to grow here. I couldn’t imagine working anywhere else.”
For all that you have done, and will continue to do Regina, your Sunrise family thanks you. We are so grateful to work beside you every day.
