Walking Sticks The Ultimate Spatial Challenge
Walking Sticks is a truly engaging and challenging game enjoyed by all ages. The game contains 54 cards, each depicting a unique design, and five sticks to manipulate into the patterns on the cards. Players are dealt 7 cards. The rest of the deck is placed face down to the side as the draw pile. One card is turned up as the first "card-in-play." One player moves the sticks into the pattern of the card-in-play to begin the game. Player One looks at the cards in his/her hand to find a card with a pattern that could be made by moving just one stick of the original pattern. If the player does not have such a card, player must draw one from the pile. If the player can then move one stick to match the pattern on the new card, he/she does, then places that card face up on the discard pile as the new card-in-play. If not, play continues to the player to the left. The first person to run out of cards wins the game. Key to the game: cards can be turned any way to make the pattern (sideways, upside down), and mirror images (flips) don't count. The new pattern must be duplicated as it appears on the card by moving just one stick of the card-in-play.
